JAMB BEGINS NATIONWIDE ACCREDITATION OF 848 CENTRES FOR 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the process of accreditation and inspection of examination centres in preparation for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the JAMB Bulletin, no fewer than 848 computer-based test (CBT) centres across the country are involved in the exercise.

This exercise is designed to confirm that each centre meets JAMB’s required technical, security, and operational standards.

The inspection process commenced on Monday, December 15, 2025, and is being carried out simultaneously across different states of the country.

As part of the process, the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, held discussions with key stakeholders in the examination system. Those in attendance included: Chief External Examiners (CEEs), Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs), Zonal Directors, State Coordinators, representatives of the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria (CPAN), Zonal IT Officers (ZITOs), State IT Officers (SITOs), Project IT Officers (PITOs), and other relevant officials.

The accreditation exercise aims to ensure the credibility of the centres by ensuring that only centres that fully comply with JAMB’s guidelines are approved to administer the examination.
