WILL JAMB EXTEND DEADLINE FOR 2026 UTME REGISTRATION?

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the deadline for the 2026 UTME registration will not be extended.

JAMB disclosed that about one million candidates have already registered. The Board stated that the sale of ePINs will end on February 26, while registration will officially close on February 28, 2026.

According to JAMB, many candidates who have bought their ePINs are yet to complete their registration, even though some accredited CBT centres are not busy.

The Board explained that the examination timetable is already tight, making any extension impossible. Candidates were therefore advised to complete their registration early and avoid waiting until the last minute.

JAMB also warned students not to believe rumours of a possible extension, stressing that missing the deadline means missing the examination.
